May 18, 2009 - Hamilton, Canada -The "Make It Seven" campaign to bring a new NHL hockey franchise to southern Ontario gained significant new momentum with the announcement of two major corporate partners and the launch of the campaign's full website at www.makeitseven.ca.
Labatt Breweries and Home Hardware are the first two anchor corporate partners to lend their support for the movement that has gained the support of 120,000 people from coast to coast and beyond. "What began as a grassroots movement to support bringing a seventh NHL club to Canada is now attaining critical mass, with these two iconic Canadian brands proudly joining the effort," said Jim Balsillie, who is spearheading the bid.
In addition to the new corporate partners, the www.makeitseven.ca website also went fully "live" today with a broad range of innovative features designed to give supporters of the bid a robust online home, where they can interact and share their passion for the idea of a seventh Canadian team.
Filemobile's Media Factory is powering a user generated content experience on Make it Seven called "Have a Voice". The Make it Seven audience can upload a rant, record a video, leave a comment or upload a video to discuss why they believe Hamilton should have an NHL team. This entire experience is Facebook connect enabled, meaning that anyone can login with their Facebook ID's to participate in the Make it Seven conversation. Site visitors are broadcasting their point of view regarding Balsillie's bid on haveavoice.makeitseven.ca . Their feedback, (in which ever format they chose) are instantaneously uploaded on to their Facebook page and automatically distributed in their friend feed providing powerful social media marketing.
The goal is to build a grassroots movement of support for the Hamilton NHL bid. To date 1,000's are participating, adding to the conversation and generating public excitement. Get involved, and get the word out at Have a Voice .
